Getting To Know Alexandra Bennett, LCSW

Alexandra Bennett provides individualized, evidence-based mental health support for children, teens, and young adults, specializing in anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and challenges related to school, friendships, and family. Using a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approach, she tailors her work to meet each client’s developmental needs. With younger children, she integrates play therapy, and she emphasizes collaboration with families, schools, and other providers to ensure consistent, well-rounded support across settings.

Known for creating a warm, engaging, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, Alexandra helps young clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow. She guides them toward confidence, self-awareness, and practical strategies that can be applied both at home and in school.

In addition to her private practice at ALB Therapy, Alexandra serves as the Lower School Counselor at The Windward School, supporting students with language-based learning disabilities. Her clinical experience also includes roles at Silver Therapy Group and Woodhull Hospital’s Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, equipping her to support children and teens with varied mental health needs.

Alexandra earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University (NYU,) where she developed a strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health, school-based interventions, and family-centered care. Outside of the therapy room, Alexandra enjoys tennis, skiing, fitness classes, and discovering new coffee  shops around NYC. She also stays up to date on the latest research in child and adolescent mental health and incorporates evidence-based techniques into her practice.

Alexandra offers virtual therapy sessions in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Vermont, as well as in-person sessions in Manhattan on the Upper East Side.
